70 Degrees and. ..Snow?!

There aren't many things more unpredictable than East Tennessee weather. January 2013 is proving that point and then some! The weekend of January 11 brought out the sun and 73 degree weather! That's exceptional, even by our oddball weather standards. So, Addie, Philip and I went to the park for our first walk of the season. It took her a bit to get in the swing of things (wind, facing forward in her stroller, sunshine, dogs, etc. were a bit much for the first lap and a half), but once we got going, it was a nice bit of fresh air for all of us. What a treat for January!!

SOOOO Big out in the sun!

Just cruisin' with my remote control. ..

Then, just 4 days after our walk, Addie got to experience her first snow! Addie wasn't very impressed with it on the ground or trees, but she was enthralled with watching it fall to the ground. She would run to the window, look up, and then she would point up, look at me with earnest eyes that seemed to say "What IS it?! Do you see?!", and point up again. I was a bad mommy and didn't have any snow appropriate clothes for her, so we didn't get out in it, but I did get some really cute pictures of her staring out the window at it. We are prepared for the next snow (which probably won't happen now that I'm prepared) thanks to a great sale on snow coats and bib overalls, so fingers are crossed! Here are a few of my favorites:

It's just getting started. ..she's amazed!

Wanted you all to see how tall she looks when she's standing up in her shoes!

Still staring. ..

Different window, still amazed.

She loves playing with the window pulls.

It WAS pretty.

Snow's over. Beautiful sunset.

Still amped up about the snow from the day before.

Her version of peekaboo - cover the patched eye and peek with the good eye. LOVE!

Still impressed.

I just love this picture. It's my new fav.

You can't tell here, but she is standing on her own with no balance help from me! Look at the tongue working and how proud she is!!!

Helping mommy clean. ..I apparently have a Clorox wipe addiction that she has picked up on..

One week after the snow event, we had an ice storm! Our weather just goes from crazy to crazier! It was nice to have an extra day with Philip at home with us and to have an excuse to slow down and stay in all day. Thankfully both the power and the satellite stayed on the entire time! Addie wasn't impressed with the freezing rain; it just looked like rain to her. I did get a couple of good pictures though:

For those of you who don't live here, it's hard to imagine how quickly things can change. ..it's supposed to be 65 degrees again by Tuesday! East Tennessee weather, always an adventure!
