Summer Adventures

Our summer is off to a busy start! We took our first trip out of town 2 Weeks ago - a 5 hour trip to Cincinnati to see a GI specialist. Addie was a little (lot!) disappointed. She really thought her first big adventure should have been to the Magic Kingdom or at the very least should have included a stop at the Cincinnati Zoo, but oh no, mom & dad took her to yet another hospital. Our car was packed with enough stuff.. We really could have gone on to Disney and not had to pack any more.. But we just drove up and back in the same day.

The hospital was incredibly impressive, and their GI dept took up an entire floor in the medical office building. Dr. Pulermo was great, and we left with a better understanding of Addie's complicated tummy. No earth shattering news, but we understand her a little better and have the peace of mind that we're not missing anything.

Addie got to experience several firsts! First road trip! First time eating outside of the house! First trip to a new hospital! First time pitching a fit in the car! First time going into a restaurant! First time being carried in public (not hidden in her car seat!

I have never seen her so happy as when I got her out of her car seat and carried her to her nursery! She kept looking all around and screeching with excitement! She was practically giddy.. It was too cute!

All of those firsts undoubtably led to another first.. Addie's first "normal" illness. :-( Poor girl woke up with a cold the very next Tuesday. She's just starting to feel like herself again after several mostly sleepless nights. Thank goodness for the magic of a steamy bathroom!
